One of the most valuable things about being marshall is getting the king to follow you. If someone is doing something u dont want them too, you can just command them to follow you and they stop what they are doing and do so. You can influence what castles and towns are attacked. As marshall you have some control over the rate of the realms expansion. Being marshall has more positives than negatives.
